Sälen has something for everyone – all year round! During the winter, the local landscape offers numerous opportunities for skiing, with a large number of slopes for downhill skiing and fine tracks for long-distance skiing in varied terrain. Every year, the world’s largest ski race, Vasaloppet, starts in Berga village just south of Sälen. If you prefer to leave your skis at home, there are also opportunities to go on a snowmobile safari or take a trip in a dog sled.
During the summer and autumn, you can explore the natural expanses by canoe, bicycle or on foot on one of the hiking trails.
Go on a moose or beaver safari in the sun, gathering the forest’s bounty, fish in the lake and river or take the 18 hole challenge on the golf course.
